Senior Full Stack Developer – Smart Home IoT & Embedded Systems

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to lead the development of a next-generation smart home integration platform. This system connects advanced lighting control solutions with motorized shading systems, delivering a seamless and premium residential automation experience.

You will build secure, real-time, and user-friendly applications that run on embedded Linux-based gateway devices using modern full stack technologies. This role combines backend architecture, front-end development, and IoT system integration within a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

Project Background

This initiative supports a high-end residential automation team focused on creating unified smart home experiences. The platform integrates motorized shading with lighting keypads using proprietary IoT protocols.

The architecture includes:

• Embedded Linux gateway devices

• TypeScript / Node.js backend

• Lightweight web UI built with Preact

• Real-time state monitoring and device synchronization

• Secure certificate-based device pairing

The project is actively evolving and provides access to real IoT hardware, advanced testing environments, and flexible collaboration. Candidates able to visit the office 1–2 days per week are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services for device discovery, communication, and control

• Build web-based configuration interfaces and real-time monitoring dashboards

• Implement WebSocket-based real-time communication

• Design and maintain secure RESTful APIs for device and scene management

• Manage certificate-based authentication and secure pairing workflows

• Implement logging, monitoring, and production recovery tools

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure stability and scalability

• Maintain internal technical documentation and API references

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• 3+ years of TypeScript/JavaScript in production environments

• 2+ years of backend development with Node.js and Express.js

• Experience building full-stack applications with React or Preact

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and debugging

• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP, TLS, mDNS)

Preferred Qualifications
