About the Team
The Merchandising & Algorithm Performance team focuses on maximizing member engagement and satisfaction by optimizing how content is promoted and personalized across the platform. Content distribution and recommendation systems play a critical role in helping members discover titles they love.
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist (L5) with deep expertise in statistics and causal inference to advance our understanding of how promotion strategies and personalization algorithms influence content discovery and engagement.
What You’ll Do

Apply causal inference techniques and advanced statistical methods to generate actionable insights

Design and implement robust experimentation and measurement frameworks

Develop metrics that inform product, promotion, and personalization strategies

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, AI, and Content stakeholders to shape data-driven decisions

Ensure analytical outputs are trustworthy, high-quality, and impactful

Identify emerging trends in content discovery to uncover future opportunities

Independently drive projects from ideation to execution
What We’re Looking For

Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field

5+ years of experience in data science or related roles

Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a competitive annual salary range of $372,000 – $600,000 USD, depending on location, experience, and market factors. Netflix allows employees to allocate compensation between salary and stock options annually.
