
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (APRN-Rx) – Telehealth & In-Clinic | Hawaii
Community Empowerment Resources (CER) is a mission-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing progressive, inclusive healthcare services that empower individuals to live fuller, healthier lives.
We serve adults and children experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness. In partnership with the Hawaii State Department of Health and insurance providers, CER delivers coordinated behavioral and primary healthcare services designed to improve stability, wellness, and long-term recovery outcomes.
Our integrated model includes community-based case management, psychiatric care, crisis stabilization, intensive outpatient programming, and comprehensive outpatient services — all delivered under one roof through our Integrated Health and Wellness Clinic.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (APRN-Rx) licensed in Hawaii to provide trauma-informed, client-centered care via telehealth and/or in-clinic services.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Telehealth providers must maintain limited in-clinic presence in accordance with controlled substance prescribing regulations.
This role is ideal for clinicians passionate about recovery-oriented care, social justice, and working with high-needs populations.
What You’ll Do

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing clinical assessments

Provide medication management and annual wellness exams

Deliver psychiatric and/or primary care services based on qualifications

Complete timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Identify and manage medication interactions

Educate clients on recovery, wellness, nutrition, and self-management

Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and team meetings

Engage in peer review and uphold professional clinical standards
Our administrative team supports providers with scheduling, referrals, and intake coordination — allowing clinicians to focus primarily on delivering high-quality care.
Minimum Time Commitment

Full-time and part-time options available

Minimum of 12 client hours per week

Attend one monthly provider meeting (60 minutes)
Required Qualifications
-
Board-certified Psychiatric Prescriber licensed in Hawaii (active and in good standing)

Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care)
